Murad recently launched their Vita-C eye and face serum into their range and I'm really excited to share with you both of these: Glow, brightening and even skintone…..hello! Not only do I love a hit of vitamin C in my skincare, but it's also the first time I've actually used any Murad skincare.

Why Vitamin C?

Vitamin C is a really powerful antioxidant that will neutralise free radicals. It will help regenerate your skin's renewal process, healing and repairing damaged skin cells. Vitamin C applied topically and in a stabilised form will offset daily aggressors such as pollution and UV damage, the results being a better protected skin, less signs of premature ageing and a healthier, plumper skin. Vitamin C also works to inhibit melanin production to prevent age spots and it also helps to brighten and even the skin tone.

Vitamin C is a really fundamental and important part of your skincare, it's a great ingredient if used properly and in the right concentrate and can have great effects on your skin.

About Vita C complex.

This is the key to this duo of products from Murad and I think they have really nailed this formula and combination. It contains a gold stabilised pure l-ascorbic acid ; this ensures the vitamin C is potent, it delivers and it's stable so it gives a 55% higher antioxidant defense than your typical vitamin C.

The complex also contains a Vitamin C derivative known in short as 'THD' which is easily accepted and absorbed by the body and finally an antioxidant called Gluthathione that works really effectively alongside vitamin C to boost it's effects on your skin.

Vita-C Glycolic Brightening Serum

This combines the Vitamin C complex discussed above with a healthy dose of 10% glycolic acid. The glycolic acid works to gently buffer away dead skin cells on the surface allowing better penetration for the vitamin C = more effective results.

This serum is ALL about brightening, protecting and evening out the skin tone. 83% of users have seen brighter and more radiant skin after 4 weeks of use.

I have been using this serum for a few weeks now and I'm really impressed with it. Firstly, I love this packaging! It's a lil' fancy, and it has a function rather than the aforementioned 'fancy-ness' ; this is a protective dual-chambered bottle with a calibrated cartridge (oo-er) that delivers the perfect amount of product with every pump AND ensures we are getting the most stable and efficient dose of vitamin C upon contact with the skin. Fancy AND functional. I can vouch that one pump does give the perfect amount for one application on the face, you may want another half pump on some days.

The look of this serum is gold-pearlescent and it has a really nice, smoothing texture when applied to the skin. A real feel-good factor when you apply it and it doesn't leave my skin sticky and I got straight in with my moisturiser. I know it's a instant gratification thing, but that pearlescent hue makes me feel bright and enlivened straight away.

I really love this serum ; I've had quite a lot of misses when it comes to vitamin C serums but they've really nailed this one ; it's one of the best I have used and my skin is looking smoother and brighter. I would really recommend this if you are wanting to give your regime a boost, you have hyperpigmentaion, scarring or just dull looking skin ; it should really help.

The Vita-C Glycolic Brightening Serum is suitable for ALL skin types, including sensitive.

Vita-C Eyes Dark Circle Corrector

This eye serum combines the Vita-C complex as above and also has light-reflecting minerals that impart that instant glow. The golden-hue colour gives a colour-correcting element as is also brilliant under your eye concealer.

I have only been using this a week so can't talk much about the difference in my under eye area longterm but the blurb is ; vitamin C will brighten dark circles and protect the skin, algae and kelp extracts will de-puff and cucumber extract hydrates and soothes.

It feels nice and light which I like ; I generally prefer eye serums as I can get milia if an eye treatment is too rich and heavy. This also absorbs in nice and quickly and I can apply my makeup straight away over it. I have really high hopes for this as I know how good the face serum has been!

After just 2 weeks, 86% of users saw a brighter under eye area. Suitable for all skin types.

This is a really great launch from Murad and a perfect duo to get me started on the range, plus hey... who doesn't need a hit of brightening and glow after the lockdown stress these last few months?! Vitamin C seems to be solving a lot of my skin woes and it's making a great difference to my skin tone and look.

The Murad Vita-C Eyes Dark Circle Corrector costs £56 and the Vita-C Glycolic Brightening Serum is £72.

Have you dipped your toe into Murad skincare yet? It was a range I had heard of for so many years and never got round to trying. I'm excited to share more on the Retinol range from them soon with you.
